MOSCOW, February 17. Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Interior Ministry to strengthen counterterrorism cooperation with colleagues from G8 countries during Russia’s Presidency.
“The Interior Ministry has a very important objective in connection with Russia’ G8 Presidency,” he said at an extended session of the ministry.
The president said the ministry was responsible for organizing a meeting of the G8 interior and justice ministers and general attorneys.
“We should use this meeting to maximum benefit, including for promoting cooperation with foreign colleagues in counterterrorism and in the fight against arms and drugs trafficking,” President Putin said.
