G8 Opportunity to Address Terrorism, Drugs – Russian Interior Minister

MOSCOW, February 24 – Russia is facing essential tasks in the context of its G8 Presidency, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev told newly promoted police generals on Thursday in Moscow.

“One task is to provide security and uphold law and order during G8 events. The other is to use a meeting of interior and justice ministers and prosecutor generals to develop closer cooperation with foreign counterparts to address international terrorism, arms and drugs trafficking,” the minister said.
