The heads of G8 national environmental/industrial accident watchdogs will meet in Moscow on Thursday and Friday, the Russian Federal Service for Ecological, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision said.
The meeting will include a round table on alleviating environmental impacts, in which the role of national regulators in energy security will be discussed along with diminishing environmental, emergency, and industrial accident risks.
Plenary meetings will help share best practices of government environment safety regulation and align national priorities on minimizing waste, release, and greenhouse emissions, the Russian watchdog said. The meeting will also include reports from G8 nations and the European Union and will result in a final document and statement.
