Russia, UNICEF discuss prospects for young G8 in Russia

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Yakovenko met with UNICEF Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS Maria Calivis Thursday to discuss bilateral cooperation between Russia and the United Nations Children's Fund, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Yakovenko and Calivis also discussed issues related to holding a youth G8 summit in Russia and UNICEF's opportunities for participating in the preparations.

At the meeting, Moscow positively assessed the fund's activity in priority areas of child protection across the world
