Prikhodko Thanks Reporters for Covering G8 Summit in St. Petersburg
September 12 Russian Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko thanked reporters for covering the G8 summit in St. Petersburg.
"We cooperated intensively and effectively with all the media covering the G8 summit," he said. Prikhodko noted that as part of its G8 Presidency, Russia is planning to conduct another ten events involving foreign ministries, sherpas, etc.
"In the next few days we are planning to hold a number of G8 events for MPs. State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov invited his G8 counterparts to discuss which G8 ideas and documents could be translated into legislative activities," Prikhodko said.
"The main thing is to pass on the G8 presidency [to Germany]. We are working with our German colleagues to ensure a smooth transition, and we are discussing with them organizational, security, and other issues," the presidential aide said.
"We are telling our German partners both about our positive experiences and our difficulties. Both the president and I believe that we have achieved a positive balance," he added. Prikhodko also mentioned the importance of communicating with NGOs.
