G8 parliamentary leaders to discuss North Korea, Iran – Kosachev

The nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran will be on the table at the Saturday meeting of G8 parliamentary leaders in St. Petersburg, a senior Russian lawmaker told a news conference after the first part of the meeting.

"The issue of the nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran will be discussed during the second part of the meeting," said Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Russian State Duma's international affairs committee.

"Russia will highlight its initiative to establish nuclear enrichment and disposal centers," he said, commenting on the upcoming discussion and citing the need for legislative support for this initiative.
