Rights vs. security debated at parliamentary G8 meeting – Duma speaker

Russian State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov described the "rights vs. security" issue as the main source of contention at the meeting of G8 parliamentary leaders in St. Petersburg.

He said that the open-hearted debate had brought opposing views closer, but there was still room for improvement.

"This is not a fast process. It would not be right to push it. The main thing is just to make sure that it goes in the right direction," the Russian speaker said.
