Putin expects Russia and Germany to carry on cooperation in energy security and education

September 23

Russian President Vladimir Putin expects Russia and Germany to carry on bilateral cooperation in energy security and education.

"I am convinced that we will carry on effective bilateral cooperation after Russia hands over the rotating G8 presidency to Germany, notably in energy security, education, and infectious diseases," he said, speaking about the results of a meeting of the Russian, German and French leaders.

Putin said the leaders also discussed the results of the G8 summit in St. Petersburg, including their implications for the forthcoming German presidency next year.
