WORKING MEETINGS SUMMIT2006

The international conference, “Knowledge and Competences for Innovation Society”, will be held as part of Russia’s G8 Presidency April 18-19.
Sixty experts from the G8 countries and international organizations, such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), UNESCO, the World Bank, UNICEF, the British Council and the American Councils for International Education, are expected to participate.
The main objective is to generate discussion on the instruments and methods for ensuring quality and relevance of education to the demands of the global innovation society.
Workshops will be held on three key issues:

1. instruments for raising the quality of professional education and the adjustment of professional competences to labor market demands;
2. methods of integrating immigrants into the national labor market and immigrant's adaptation through educaton;
3. and methods of assessing the quality of basic education.
